Pomegranate in Shadow
Andrea Hunt
Dimensions: 13 x 19
Media: Photograph on luster photo paper
Artist Statement : As an early admirer of Caravaggio’s work, I appreciate and seek out opportunities to explore how light and shadow impacts the things in my environment. Through the use of artificial constant lights, I created an atmosphere that allowed the vibrance of the fruit to shine through while keeping much of the image hidden in shadow.

Neva Hurley
$1,200.00
Dimensions: 16.75 x 23.5
Media: Oil pastel
Artist Statement : “Southern Belle” is a detailed and intimate rendition of a Southern Magnolia flower with strong highlights and shadows. I love exploring the intricacies of the petals and finding color where there would seem to be none. This piece is about gazing into the center of this classy, elegant flower and not only being inundated by the overwhelmingly amazing smell but finding the divine in the seemingly small details.

Chris Kelsey
$175.00
Dimensions: 8 x 10
Media: Original photo with encaustic medium, encaustic paints, colored pencil and oil pastels
Artist Statement : Light and shadow define what we see and what we believe we are seeing. We know these silos are round only because of the shadows and the light that provides contours. There is a grace in the effortless way that the light designs our spaces.

Ashesh Maharjan
$400.00
Dimensions: 12 x 9
Media: Linocut on paper
Artist Statement : I am interested in the space between opposites such as figure versus abstraction, contemporary versus ancient, and Eastern versus Western. However the themes of this body of work is a contemporary take on buddhist philosophy of yin and yang.

Light and Shadow
Bob Moskowitz
Dimensions: 72 x 48 x 2
Media: Oil Painting
Artist Statement : If there is power in the mundane, I attempt to record moments of human significance in the commonplace. The work suggests aspects of the human condition in context with the subject’s culture which can be revealed through observation and a peeling back of the layers. Although the subjects mask their emotions and feelings, close observation begins to reveal the specifics of content and meaning. The viewer is a participant in the un-masking of the innermost and universal motivations of people who would be otherwise be un-observed and ignored. We are each are own microcosm of the human experience. Every individual is at once different, yet the same. We share the need for shelter, food, and belonging. Vulnerability is universal. How this manifests for each individual makes us unique. In my work I attempt to slowly pull back a curtain to expose a truth.

$200.00
Dimensions: 3.5 x 0 x 1
Media: Oil on Panel
Artist Statement : I am intrested in painting landscape scenes influenced by weather. I use oil and gouache paints for their layering capabilities and the oils' and medium malleability as they work together.
