$325.00

Dimensions: 15 x 10 x 1
Media: Watercolor on paper.

Broken Shelters
Luis F. Perez
$5,000.00

Dimensions: 29.5 x 41
Media: Watercolor on watercolor paper
Artist Statement : Luis’s work has evolved from simple graphite illustrations of animals to images on a range of topics and in a variety of mediums and sizes. The common thread in his work is to reinterpret captured light. He generally works from photographs and then reinterprets the photographed subject in a way meant to invite the viewer to focus on light as well as on a subject, prompting the viewer to their own reinterpretation. His latest watercolors are primarily still life or landscape, generally in large format. The still life paintings of food are a series entitled “Privileged food.” The paintings, while realistic, are contemporary in form, design, and composition. The semi-circular composition offers the opportunity to explore ways that negative space can be complementary or oppositional to the subject, using tonal values, hues, or subtle textural variations.

$900.00

Dimensions: 18 x 24 x 1
Media: Mixed: Paint, pastel, metallic glazes, crayon, photography, other.
Artist Statement : Art has always been part of me, from the first time I colored outside the lines and preferred my result to the neater versions of my classmates. I started to identify myself as an “artist” when others called me by that name. Soon I began to understand that this was something you could “be.” In the past decade I have become fascinated with the concept of inside-out, flipping some part of the perspective in each piece I create. I create a kind of enhanced reality using photographs that I have taken along with paint, metallic glazes, crayon, pastel and sometimes a variety of less conventional media to bring my inner vision forward in my artwork. You will see what I see. While I use my own photographic images, there is no use of digital art effects or scanning, no reproductions of finished pieces, no multiple editions. Each completed piece is unique and hand-made, a one of a kind finished multimedia artwork.

Village Still Life
Suzanne Shelden
$576.00

Dimensions: 16 x 12 x 2
Media: Acrylic on Canvas
Artist Statement : This is a painting of a deer skull placed on an oyster midden onto which leaves have also fallen upon and mixed into. I found this in an eastern woodland native american village exhibit at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in Southern Maryland. As part of my current series of exploration I am looking for ways in which light penetrates the forest canopy. This "still life" was in the middle of a spot of light and shadow where the skull and oyster shells and leaves are only partly lit by sunlight. I hope to have captured the feel of that light in my work.

$650.00

Dimensions: 10 x 8 x 0.25

Artist Statement : Sunset in Arizona is a very special time. The scorching sun goes down, the cold, long shadows take over the surface, and everything wakes up and fills the air with the natural symphony of sounds...

$975.00

Dimensions: 14 x 11 x 0.5
Media: Oil on Stretched Canvas
Artist Statement : The last sunrays are breaking through the dark cloud after the heavy rain over the marshes of St. Simons Island, VA. The vignette of the bright light surrounds the edges of the cloud, creating high contrast between light and shadow, reflected on the surface of the water below... I started it En Plein Air and finished in the studio.

Dimensions: 40 x 48
Media: Acrylic on wooden board
Artist Statement : Dribbled paint carries the momentum of the work, directed by the natural flow of the paint. The imagery is intended but allowed to be influenced and inspired by the natural tendencies of the medium. Atmosphere and color dynamism is more an issue of choice and conscious control.

Philosopher's Table
Wendy Haimes Smith
$360.00

Dimensions: 21 x 17 x 1.5
Media: Oil on Paper
Artist Statement : This cameo of light and shadow using black oil on white paper creates a beautiful tableau. The luxurious folds in the cloths and the dark cloth underneath the book push forth the book and imply an intellectual focus. And the backdrop is its own still life of ewer, pot and plate.

$2,500.00

Dimensions: 37.5 x 37.5 x 1.5
Media: Oil on Canvas
Artist Statement : Light and shadow need not be dark and light; they can be colors. This painting done in Rock Creek Park Plein Air shows the shadows with the light in color array.. I concentrate in my painting on color plays and often employ prismatic color effects and planal shifts. Here the underbrush in the forest becomes a jig-saw of light and shadow using color shapes and tonal differences.

FIrst Place

Dimensions: 12 x 12 x 0.25
Media: Acrylic and Gouache
Artist Statement : My husband created this nice display at the end of his workday. I couldn't resist wanting to paint it with the way the overhanging lights were reflecting on the glasses and creating shadows and reflections onto the bar top. I added the cigar to enhance the scene a bit. We just love how it turned out.

$5,500.00

Dimensions: 30 x 44 x 1.5
Media: Acrylic on two panels.
Artist Statement : Rather than banishing shadows from painting as most abstract artists have done, I embrace them as a way to explore how pictorial perception works and how paintings convey meaning.

The Mummy
Tara Tokarski
$350.00

Dimensions: 24 x 18
Media: Medium: This is digital art, not AI, created with brushes inside a Photoshop Program. For digital art, there is no physical original; the art has to be printed by a specialized fine art printer. My prints are created with the highest quality matt, 100 % cotton rag archival paper using state-of-the-art Epson fine art printers, which use ultra-chrome archival inks. These materials are of the highest standard, and the technology used is considered the finest in the world. I am fortunate that they have agreed to work with me. Artwork size is 18 x 24. It comes framed.
Artist Statement : About: This painting is all about those missing parts. Areas within the painting have more of an impression of shape, hinting at the characters' missing humanity. The subjects are present, but part of them is missing. Value, light, perspective, balance, and space play significant roles in The Mummy. Mischief is afoot with these two.
